In his creations, Chef Janez Šetina is constantly looking for a symbiosis between different tastes, playing with different techniques and looking for ways to reinterpret Slovenian dishes in a modern way, which his grandmother and mother used to prepare. Delicious plates are accompanied by top Slovenian wines. What we liked were clean plates, with distinct flavors, what the plate represents, that’s exactly what we wanted to taste.

Villa Podvin is decorated with stained glass windows by the renowned Slovenian artist Stanet Kregar. If stained glass windows are painting with light, chef Šetina’s culinary creations are painting with top local ingredients. Just as stained glass windows need light to make their colors really come to life, chef Janze Šetina’s dishes need guests to tell their story – the story of modern Slovenian cuisine, prepared from the best local ingredients and with a spoonful of creativity.🤩

The story is indeed completely new, but we got the impression that the team has a bright future, we felt welcomed, at home and we left the restaurant full of energy, this is something that usually convinces us to visit again.❤️
