A boutique cafe, which was created in memory of my grandmother, who sat the whole family at the table every afternoon with hot coffee and fresh pastries and raised a real family of “coffee makers” – in memory of my grandmother and in tribute to the iconic image of Ivana Kobilca: “The Coffee Maker.”

The ambiance is permeated with Slovenian wood and details – lights like the ones that used to hang in our grandmothers’ kitchens. The cafe also received the BIG SEE international architecture award for the interior, as chosen by the readers of Maribor24 – they should have a chef in Štajerska, Restaurant Guru: Top 100 best coffeehouse restaurant in Slovenia.

Boutique desserts, savory snacks, great coffees, hot chocolates, cocktails, paying close attention to fresh ingredients and short supply chains, even though they are located more on the outskirts. Homemade juices are produced in Styria, and most wines are produced on neighboring hills and cellars. At the same time, Šentilj was once the largest border crossing in this part of Europe. Tons of coffee were smuggled through this place, which is also related to the name “Kofetarc”. Among other things, you can remember the days of “smuggling” at their “Smuggling Cafe”.

She was impressed by many innovative drinks – Snežna kepa, Bodeča Neža (rose), she also tried all the hot tequila, and the hot chocolate with “bubbly” was also interesting.

“Coffee is not just a drink… It’s an experience. Travel.” wrote the owners, who remember afternoons with their grandmother’s cookies and coffee.
I shouldn’t identify more with this record, many beautiful moments are born with coffee – if we are surrounded by people we love and some other sweet goodness, such memories remain consciously!
