Anyone who visits Sinji vrh for the first time is enchanted by the wonderful view over the Vipava Valley, which extends all the way to Venice and Istria (it’s a pity, because it was not completely clear, otherwise it would have been even more beautiful). At an altitude of more than 1,000 meters, one can experience many other pleasant things: some people go up here only to retreat from the valley on hot summer days, others enjoy wandering along the endless forest footpaths, others go parasailing, cycling and shooting with a bow. Sport climbers have also found their place because climbing walls have been discovered nearby. Sinji vrh is also an excellent starting point for visiting nearby attractions: caves, sinkholes, skrapelj, glaciers, Smrekova Draga, Otliška Okna, a stone pillar sign in the form of a lighthouse along the main road, and other attractions.
At Sinji vrh, guests are served food, most of which is grown on their own organic farm. Their vision is to preserve traditional highland dishes with a touch of freshness, which they follow with their own creations with the help of herbs that they collect in the surroundings of the guesthouse. Guests are always offered local and seasonal dishes that change according to the season. Regardless of the season, you can always find home-made cured meat products (venison salami, sausages, pancetta, prosciutto and several types of cheese), various spreads and beef or deer carpaccio on the menu. As a house specialty, they offer roast deer and lamb from organic farming. In addition to meat dishes, home-made štruklje can be highlighted as a house specialty, nettles are often served as a side dish, and walnuts as a dessert.
If you want to try several delicacies in several courses, a tasting menu accompanied by high-quality Vipava bottled wines is also available upon prior reservation.
