Hotel Mrak

You probably already know that Tina and I love quiet mornings with a delicious breakfast. Well, when sometimes we really think we know every hidden corner, something always surprises us. We walked around the old part of the center of Ljubljana and discovered a new option where we can meet with friends, business partners or take any company to a really delicious breakfast or brunch! We visited Hotel Mrak.

It is a family-run hotel in the old city center of Ljubljana, which has been renovated over the years. As soon as we entered through the main door, we were captivated by the interesting story, the many works of art, which are connected through various details in the hotel. In addition, Hotel Mrak has another special feature – their garden is decorated with a two-hundred-year-old vine, which conjures up a truly charming atmosphere!
There is no shortage of historical and cultural experiences in the hotel, otherwise the hotel has 34 rooms.

Too often we mistakenly think that hotel breakfasts are available only to hotel guests. Hotel Mrak also opens its doors to non-hotel guests!
We were impressed by many little things, details, works of art, to which the staff pays a lot of attention. The staff is professional, it is a slightly higher level of service, where we got the feeling that we are something special – everyone likes to feel special sometimes, right?
Breakfast starts with a greeting from the kitchen, where it smells of fresh bread, fresh pastries, butter and jam. Then you have the choice of a buffet breakfast, where they place a lot of emphasis on local suppliers, including those recognized abroad (e.g. Kukenberger organic farm, Pustotnik,…). They also have quite a few a la carte options available, where of course poached eggs, which we all love for breakfast, are not missing.
There are also quite a few sweet options for all those with a sweet tooth.

Hotel Mrak is the only hotel in the old center of Ljubljana accessible by car. There are several parking spaces in front of the hotel.
